Job Summary:
WinPlus is seeking recent top US university graduates for the International Education Counselor position at our Boston Global Office located in the heart of Harvard Square. International Education Counselors design and deliver individualized counseling service over multiple years with a focus on college admissions. They help students develop academic and career goals that are consistent with their core values and maximize acceptance rates. They are highly responsible and motivated individuals working closely with students as their advisors, mentors, and coaches.
Responsibilities:
Identify prospective customers, which include both students and parents/guardians, and present them with WinPlus' core values and programs
Provide early-stage consultations, student assessments, and appropriate combinations of products
Create personalized action plans for college admissions by integrating the resources and programs developed by WinPlus teams, including educational tours, research programs, internship placements, and academic advising, etc.
Provide advising service on students' academic development, extracurricular activities, and career aspirations by guiding students to find their interests, strengths, core values, and prosocial orientations
Facilitate students' college application process by helping students develop a best-fit school list, prepare for application materials, and revise application essays, etc.
Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students biweekly, and keeping records of and updating students' progress with students' parents, Education Coordinators, and other relevant stakeholders
Maintain in-time communication with students in addition to biweekly counseling sessions to answer questions and provide necessary updates
Maintain updated industrial knowledge about high school curricula, higher education institutions, college admissions, extracurricular activities, standardized tests, and professional knowledge of student development and learning strategies
Qualifications:
Graduated from a top US university
Passion for education and working with students/families
Experience of delivering great customer service, with a focus on coaching or mentoring
Understanding of education, student development, or counseling
Planning and organizational skills
Ability to integrate information from various sources and provide far-sight solutions
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong English skills with a focus on reading, writing, and revising
Experience of working in a cross-functional team
Fluency Chinese Mandarin is preferred but not required
Compensation: WinPlus offers a competitive compensation package ($40,000-$60,000 plus other benefits) and can also sponsor international employees for H1B Visas.
